Proficient idea, looks good. As well another thing that has worked well for me was big diameter heat compress, several layers one at a fourth dimension volition compress down very tight on whatever material similar foam or handlebar tape and the ends will shrink down tight to the metal handle, all coverings are better than bare metal.

Another ready for this is to tape off the areas on the ends of the handle that you don't desire to paint and so scuff the exposed are with sandpaper. And then make clean it with alcohol or some other cleaner.

At the hardware store you lot will observe Plasti-Dip in aerosol form. Spray it on in as many coats as yous want just remove the tape and retape between coats. The stop result is very durable.

I've also had great success repairing croaky condom intake boots. Just scuff them with a wire brush and record equally needed. I use about 5 or 6 coats. I've used this method on some of my vintage motorcycle restorations and the finish result is extremely durable.
